Located in the heart of Western Tennessee, Flatwoods Canoe Base offers the perfect outdoor getaway. The clean, clear water of the Buffalo River sets the pace for a day next to nature. We can tailor-make a day in the sun for you and your group. Just let us know what you would like to do with the time you have, and we will gladly suggest an organized, but flexibly fun day to include casual,or serious-hiking, canoeing, fishing, picnicking, swimming or camping.

For your trip we provide: transportation to and from the river, a 17-foot canoe, paddles and life events. And we are open seven days a week May till October to fit your schedule.

1. • Try not to tip over-but if you do, don't panic.
   

2. • Plan two people to a canoe for the most fun and comfort.
   

3. • No more than two children per canoe.
   

4. • ALWAYS wear your shoes.
   

5. • Landings are not always clearly marked.
   

6. • Know where you are getting out. Wear your life jackets.
   

7. • Grip your paddle with one hand on the shaft to guide the direction and the other hand on top of the shaft handle to push.
   

8. • Put the strongest person in the back of your canoe.
   

9. • Secure eyeglasses, coolers, etc. with string. Take care of your keys.
   

10. • Keep dry items in a waterproof container.
    

11. • Bring a change of clothes.
    

12. • Please don't litter the river. Keep trash with you.  It will be collected at the end of your trip.
    

13. • You may also want to remember to bring a camera, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent or anything to add to your enjoyment of the day.
